Software

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW: OpenEM distributes open source software through its own software repository for EM data analysis, modeling and interpretation, via a Subversion server (SVN, details of which can be found at www.tigris.svn.org).  Access to the SVN server for software project updates, downloads and collaborative development requires an SVN Client plus authentication credentials which are granted only to registered users of OpenEM.org.  Unauthorized distribution or sharing of authentication credentials, is not only unethical and contrary to the spirit of a trusted OpenEM.org community, but also traceable.  Offenders will be blocked from future access to both the SVN server and the OpenEM.org site.

By registering with OpenEM.org, users acknowledge their awareness that all content on the SVN server is copyrighted and protected by an open source software license (the Lesser GNU Public License version 2 if not specified otherwise, the terms and conditions of which can be found at www.gnu.org.licenses).  All software projects hosted on the SVN repository are obligated to contain clearly identifiable statements of the corresponding license agreement.  Project authors are encouraged to contribute a statement of attribution for users to include in published papers, reports and presentations.

OpenEM also provides links to other software repositories as a convenience to OpenEM.org users - however users are advised that the licensing terms for software accessed through external (non-OpenEM.org links) may not necessarily be covered by the same terms and conditions as software accessed directly through the OpenEM.org repository.

---

Note - OpenEM.org users should note that access to software and data contained on sites external to OpenEM.org is governed by terms and conditions associated with those sites, and is not necessarily covered by the open source software license associated with the content (the Limited GPL v2.0 license if not otherwise specified) applicable to OpenEM.org. OpenEM.org assumes no liability for the use of its own or of external data or software.
